1980: Degree in Modern Greek from University of Copenhagen.
Translation
1981 - 2012: Freelance contract with the European Parliament: Translations from Greek into Danish. From 1983 also translations from English and French into Danish. From 1997, I continued translating the Parliament's texts as a subcontractor of the company "Lionbridge" (from 2009 the company "Oversætterhuset").
1993 - 2003: Freelance framework contract with the European Commission. Translations from Greek, Danish, and French into Danish.
2005 - 2010: As a subcontractor of the company Lionbridge (from May 2006 the company Scandinavian Translators, from 2008 the company CLS), I participated in the translation of the ECB Monthly Bulletin and the ECB Annual Report.
1999 - : Successive framework contracts with the European Central bank ( ECB), the Language Services Division and the Legal Division. The work (translation, revision, proofreading, and terminology work) is carried out from home or on the ECB premises in Frankfurt am Main, replacing the Danish in-house translator and lawyer-linguist.
2001 - : Successive framework contracts with the Court of Justice of the European Union: Translations of legal texts (opinions, national courts' requests for preliminary rulings, and judgments) from English, Greek, and French into Danish.
2007 - : Successive framework contracts with the European Investment Bank: Translations from English and French into Danish (e.g. Activity Report, press releases, info material, surveys, legal acts), as well as revision and proofreading of other translators’ translations.
Employment
November 2011 - June 2012: Employee of The European Central Bank, Frankfurt am Main (short term contract) as a senior translator with sole responsibility for the translation into Danish of the non-legal texts.
October 2021 - October 2022: Employee of The European Central Bank, Frankfurt am Main (short term contract) as a principal translator with sole responsibility for the translation into Danish of the non-legal texts.
